Plasma Fibroblast Skin Tightening in
Torrance & the South Bay

What is fibroblast skin treatment?
Plasma Fibroblast is a non-surgical skin tightening treatment that uses a small handheld device to create a tiny plasma arc on the surface of the skin. This arc never fully touches the skin but creates controlled “micro-dots” that instantly contract the tissue and trigger your body’s natural healing response.
The goal is to tighten loose or crepey skin, soften fine lines and wrinkles, and improve texture without cutting, stitches, or general anesthesia. Many clients use Plasma Fibroblast as a way to address hooded lids, under-eye wrinkles, lines around the mouth, or mild laxity in the face, neck, or body. It’s a great option for people who want visible change but aren’t ready for surgery.

How does plasma fibroblast skin tightening work?
Plasma Fibroblast works by creating a very small electrical arc between the tip of the device and your skin. This arc turns the air into plasma, which creates a series of tiny controlled injuries on the top layer of skin.
These points do two important things:
-
They cause the tissue to tighten and contract right away.
-
They stimulate your skin’s fibroblast cells—the cells that produce collagen and elastin—to start repairing and rebuilding the area over the next several weeks.

As your skin heals, it becomes firmer, smoother, and more lifted. The results continue to improve for weeks as new collagen forms beneath the surface.
OK well what exactly is Plasma or Fibroblast?
Plasma is often called the “fourth state of matter.” When the device tip gets close enough to your skin, it ionizes the gases in the air and creates a tiny, controlled plasma arc. That arc delivers a very focused heat energy to the surface of the skin.
Fibroblasts are special cells in your skin that are responsible for making collagen and elastin, the proteins that keep your skin firm, bouncy, and youthful. When we carefully stimulate fibroblasts with a treatment like this, they go into “repair mode” and lay down new collagen, which is what gives you that tighter, smoother look over time.
Is this too good to be true?
It’s totally normal to wonder if Plasma Fibroblast skin tightening is “too good to be true.” This isn’t a gimmick—results start to appear relatively quickly and continue to improve as your skin heals. It takes about 8 full weeks to see the final result from a single treatment.
Even if your skin looks mostly healed on the outside after the first week, there is still a lot of repair happening underneath the surface. The body needs time to rebuild collagen and remodel the tissue.
-
Around week 4: collagen production kicks in, which is what really strengthens and tightens the skin.
-
Weeks 4–8+: this rebuilding phase continues, and many clients notice their results actually look better and tighter as time goes on.
Plasma Fibroblast can soften lines, tighten loose or crepey skin, and improve texture, but it can’t stop the natural aging process completely. Aging is inevitable but we can absolutely address your current concerns and help you feel more confident in your skin right now.

Who is/is not an ideal candidate?
Plasma Fibroblast is a very safe and effective treatment when it’s done by a properly trained professional, but it isn’t right for everyone. Certain medical conditions, medications, and skin types do not react well, which is why it’s critical that you see someone who understands who is safe to treat and who is not.
In general, an ideal candidate:
-
Is in good overall health (both long-term and on the day of the appointment)
-
Has realistic expectations about gradual, natural results
-
Is willing to follow all pre-care and aftercare instructions
If you are showing signs of a cold or flu, we will need to reschedule your appointment for your safety and for the best healing.
Clients who CAN have the service but may heal slower
Ideal candidates for Plasma Fibroblast are generally:
-
In overall good health
-
Have mild to moderate loose or crepey skin
-
Understand that this is a non-surgical tightening treatment with gradual, natural-looking results
You may not be a good candidate if you:
-
Are pregnant or breastfeeding
-
Have very dark skin tones (Fitzpatrick 5–6)
-
Have certain active skin conditions, uncontrolled medical conditions, or a history of keloid scarring
Because darker skin tones can be at higher risk of hyperpigmentation or hypopigmentation, we do not perform Plasma Pen on Fitzpatrick 5–6, and we do a test patch for Fitzpatrick 4 before moving forward with a full treatment. Safety always comes first at Radiant Ink.
What skin types may not be good candidates for plasma pen treatment?
Plasma Fibroblast is not safe for every skin type. Darker skin tones are at a higher risk for hyperpigmentation (dark spots) or hypopigmentation (light spots) after this kind of treatment. Because of that, some clients are not good candidates for Plasma Pen.
Radiant Ink is committed to safe, effective treatments for all of our clients. When in doubt, we do not risk it.
-
We do not provide Plasma Pen treatments on Fitzpatrick skin types 5–6.
-
All Fitzpatrick 4 clients will receive a test patch before any full procedure to see how the skin responds.
If you’re unsure which Fitzpatrick type you are, we’ll go over it together at your consultation and let you know honestly whether Plasma Fibroblast is a good option for your skin—or if we recommend something else instead.

Is the plasma pen treatment painful?
Everyone’s interpretation of pain varies, and some areas of the body are more sensitive than others. Some clients say it feels similar to a dull rubber band snapping whereas others say they can barely feel anything.
Numbing cream is helpful in reducing the discomfort during treatment and prescription strength topical cream will be applied 30 mins before and anytime during if needed. You will also be instructed to buy a numbing cream off Amazon for better comfort to be put on1hour before your session.
Plasma Pen VS. Cosmetic Surgery
Plasma Fibroblast is a non-surgical alternative for tightening and smoothing the skin. It can:
-
Improve the look of mild to moderate laxity
-
Soften fine lines and wrinkles
-
Give a more “awake” look around the eyes
It is not a replacement for a full surgical facelift or blepharoplasty, especially for very heavy or extreme cases. Surgery can remove and reposition more tissue, but it also comes with more downtime, higher cost, and more risk.
Think of Plasma Fibroblast as a middle ground between skin care and surgery—great for people who want noticeable improvement and are okay with subtle, natural results that build over time rather than a dramatic “overnight” change.

Clients who can have the treatment with a time delay:
Recent injections or filler treatments should wait 21 days after to have Plasma Pen
There’s a 3 month wait after Bleh surgery or Facelifts/Browlifts
If you’ve had chemo or radiation, there is a 5 week wait
Wait 12 weeks after eye laser surgery
If you’ve had Shingles, wait 6 months for treatment
There’s a 6 month wait after Accutane use
How long will it take to see results and how long does it last?
Plasma Fibroblast is more than a simple tightening treatment. The effects can last for years, especially when you protect your skin from the sun and follow good skincare habits.
You’ll usually notice some improvement fairly quickly, but this treatment should not be seen as a replacement for surgery in cases of moderate to severe skin laxity. Only surgery can remove larger amounts of tissue. With Fibroblast, you’ll see gradual, cumulative improvements over the next few months in the appearance of loose or crepey skin.
In some cases, more than one session may be recommended depending on the area, the degree of laxity, and your individual response.
Most clients are told to expect:
-
Up to 8 weeks to see the full, settled result from a single treatment (some people continue to see changes up to 12 weeks).
-
Around week 4, collagen and elastin production really begins to ramp up.
-
The next 4+ weeks are when these new fibers strengthen and tighten the skin.
Some clients notice changes within the first week, but we always remind everyone: wait the full 8 weeks before deciding if you’d like additional sessions. That gives your skin time to finish the deeper healing and show you the true results.

What are the risks of the plasma pen treatment?
Plasma Fibroblast is considered a low-risk, non-surgical procedure when performed by a trained professional, but all cosmetic treatments carry some risk. Possible side effects include:
-
Swelling, redness, and tenderness for a few days
-
Carbon crusts (tiny brown dots) that flake off as the skin heals
-
Temporary pinkness or sensitivity in the area
Less common risks can include:
-
Infection if aftercare is not followed
-
Hyperpigmentation or hypopigmentation (especially if you pick the crusts or skip sunscreen)
-
Scarring in rare cases
We review your health history before treatment, provide detailed aftercare instructions, and are always honest about whether this is the right treatment for your skin. If we don’t think it’s a good fit, we will not move forward.
What to expect on your day of treatment?
On the day of the procedure please try not to wear any make-up or moisturizer on the treatment area. Just come in with clean skin so that no pores are clogged.
Sometimes taking an antihistamine one hour before your appointment and for two to three days after your appointment will help reduce swelling in the treatment area.
A topical numbing cream is placed on treatment area and left on to take effect for 30 to 45 minutes before the procedure begins, you will also buy a numbing cream off amazon we recommend and appy 1 hour before for deeper numbing.
During the treatment you may feel some heat and minor irritation. Swelling may intensify over the following few hours and may last 2-3 days. Treatment time will last from 45 minutes and up to several hours (3 hrs. +) depending on the size of the treatment area.
During your first appointment you will be given aftercare instructions and products to use during your healing process. It is SUPER important to follow these instructions for best results. No exfoliators or harsh cleansers can be used in about 2 weeks following treatment. You should also avoid rubbing or scratching the treated area.
DON'T LET YOUR HARD-EARNED MONEY GO TO WASTE IF YOU ARE NOT GOING TO FOLLOW THE AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS!

What downtime can I expect after my plasma pen treatment?
“Downtime” is very subjective. What you think “looks bad” and/or is “uncomfortable” can be very different from someone else’s perception
It really does depend on what one considers as down-time. Some are quite okay with going out in public immediately whereas others may wish to stay home and avoid crowds
It is natural that you will experience swelling the first few days followed by carbon crust (scab) formation to the tiny millimeter “dots” that are placed in the treatment area. These dots cannot be disturbed and must shed naturally on their own. This will usually occur around days 5-7
After that, the skin will appear light pink, but is closed and well on its way to good healing!
To avoid sides effects, follow the aftercare instruction given to you prior to your treatment.
Redness, swelling and scabbing in the treatment area
Average of 8 days downtime on the face and neck areas
Average of 10 to 14 days on the body, depending on the area being treated and the intensity of the treatment
Swelling usually begins the day following your treatment, and peaks around day 3
After day 3, swelling subsides and scab's form.
Scabs normally begin to fall off around day 6 and 7 (for face and neck)
Please be aware that the days indicated are simply guidelines for average healing time. Healing time and results may be negatively compromised by not following the aftercare protocol: no drinking alcohol, no smoking and no picking/scrubbing.
If your health is compromised in any way, this can also extend your healing time and negatively affect your results.
May I use makeup after the plasma fibroblast treatment?
NO! Understand the skin you just had treated can be compared as newborn skin. Do not use makeup after the treatment, as it is generally not sterile and can clog the skin that needs to breathe and heal.
The first 5-6 days after the treatment, until the crusts fall off, use the antiseptic product and aftercare cream, applying it softly to the treated area. When the crusts fall off, you may apply some makeup if necessary.
Give it about 2 weeks to wear makeup for the best healing results.
